I selected firewall software pfsence 2.1 I dont want a massive pc making lot of noise so went with this case Antec ISK 110 Mini ITX Case it\’s comes with 90w external power supply which should be enough
for the motherboard I went with EPIA-LT15000AG Mini-ITX Motherboard, VIA 1.5Ghz CPU, 512MB Kingston PC2-4200 RAM I know this is not powerful but what I\’m going to do it\’s enough. I had a laptop drive which I\’m going to use as a Hard disk.
will keep you updated it\’s going to be my firewall for ipv4 and ipv6, going to manage my SSL vpn when I\’m out and about and remote access to my home server just incase if i need to pick up a file.
whole this costed under a £100 when you think of what you get it\’s amazing value.
This sounds interesting but what wireless card are you going to use? My current ASUS router does dual 2.4/5.0 GHz networks and 450Mbps, can this system match or better that?
I’m going to use my existing linksys e4200 as an access point . disable the dhcp and every routing things on linksys and make it access point.
It will work as good as now 🙂
