Dev C++

Found a really cool C++ IDE, I know I still use visual stdio express which is free and kind a do what I need to do but Dev C++ is good as you can run them from a USB drive. if your using portable app their is a ver you can download that works well, even if you dont use portable app, it\’s really easy to setup just installed in C drive and then copy the program folder to the usb drive and it works

Site that runs on real un-modified commodore 64 (www.c64web.com)

While I’m visiting lemon64 forums I come across this site, spoke to the guy who run this site he kind a showed me how he done that, I can’t wait to give it a go, just in case anyone who don’t know what commodore 64 is here is wiki.
Any way this what he said , I Need

a c64 with disk drive
Network card for c64
This software
that’s about it

I have a c64 but don’t have the network card and the disk drive so I have to buy that  🙁

Need a IBM PS/2 floppy drive (model 50)

My IBM ps/2\’s  floppy drive is packed up :-(  need another one for cheap . I have enough floppy drives but this uses some thing different try to wire up a floppy drive failed.  I need some instruction on how to wire a normal floppy to this  or the place I can buy it under a £10

External hard-drive (network drive)

Western digital drives should be avoided @ all cost,  all though it’s DRM only affect if u share media files over internet with different user name still how dare they put a DRM on drives besides their hard drives isn’t reliable.  read the full story here

Any way the hard drive I recommend now is Freecom’s Network Drive PRO bit expensive but comes with it\’s own torrent client what more you want :D  why do u think many keep their PC on just to share the files. If this device take care of this pcs can kept shutdown (think green people ;-))  make sure u the buy the \”pro\” drive as the other freecom one dont have the torrent client.

Windows home server £449   I don\’t think many gone buy it at that price.  I know It\’s worth it for what\’s it gone do share files over internet and remote access to pc and pc backup,  they even give u a domain name for the server so you can use it with dynamic ip address (with out using service like no-ip or dyndns etc) It\’s good for whats it gone do but don’t think home users normally like to spend money on a device like this

Microsoft Exchange 2007

I kind a evaluating exchange 2007, I love the fact that It\’s based on roles, specially now days  blade servers are \”cheap\”.  It\’s no use for a small businesses but large and medium size business can benefit. one thing I love  it\’s Edge Transport Server Role where u can have this server on DMZ and if it\’s compromise then it wont affect any thing on your ad network and this server don\’t even have to be on the ad domain.

Many new features I can type the whole day. other one I like is using powershell to manage it. GUI are great but It\’s very hard to remember where u clicked last time. CLI if u write it down some where and u know it will work every time. MMC is improved as well where easy to get to mailbox etc much improved than 2003.  they taken the public folder off (well they didn\’t but discourage from using it) which gone put lot of companies off from upgrading.

Backup feature is great too normally most exchange trouble is comes from  database getting corrupt it\’s pain to restore. and still some email will get lost etc, Now with exchange 2007 you can have a Local continuous replication (LCR) or cluster continuous replication (CCR) to store the database on another local drive or another server which is great if one go bad u still have another one to point to so technically 0 downtime.

All in all I\’m very impressed but don\’t think business will go up and upgrade but good for new start ups or even business that moving away from their current mail platforms

Blackberry 8800

Well I have to give my 8300 away even though I liked all the features it had with out GPS It\’s just another phone that does mail and found out I can use balckberry 8800 as modem to may mac laptop so I subscribe to their unlimited data & installed google map. Map that comes with blackberry don\’t work for some reason.

This my 1st blackberry so few hours I had hard time learning the dame thing ( I kept touching the screen ) now that I used it very nice to use, love it. I can get my gmail and work email (I still need to set it up on work BES server) but even with out that it works really well using webmail.

voice calling is really good as well, even if I\’m on a busy road i can still can have a conversation. where most of the windows mobile phone just never worked for me 🙁

All in all I\’m happy about getting this one.

MPLS (Multi-Protocol Label Switching)

I just come a cross this today. It\’s kind a cool technology basically what it will do eliminate creating IPsec tunnels among sites (with that kind a eliminating overheads using ipsecs ) It’s kind a creating private tunnel among sites and what cool about is it’s totally secure and can connect internet to the MPLS and all sites can share it
